Distinctive
Architecture, interiors or concept should be recognisable rather than generic.
We do not score or rank hotels. We explain why a property belongs in the collection and separate verified facts from editorial judgement.
Architecture, interiors or concept should be recognisable rather than generic.
The stay should make sense in Croatia and in its specific destination.
Boutique is partly about human scale, attention and a coherent hosting style.
Restaurant, garden, spa, winery, beach access or culture should make the property more than a bed.
Core facts must be confirmable from current first-party sources.
We do not use a hard room-count ceiling. A larger hotel can appear only as a clearly labelled “boutique spirit” exception when design, place and individuality are unusually strong.
This prevents the term boutique from becoming meaningless while still allowing genuinely distinctive design hotels into the guide.
Boutique Hotels Croatia is an editorial discovery platform. Featured hotels remain independently owned and operated. If affiliate or paid partnerships are introduced later, they must be labelled without changing the editorial criteria.
